However, when she first reveals herself completely, she humors the children by appearing in a black pointy hat and dark robes, an obvious nod toward the form of a traditional witch. She is the one who brings both gravity and humor to dark situations, proving herself the essence of balance and trustworthiness. Mrs. Which speaks in slow drawn-out words, evocative of the long and deep wisdom she possesses.
